Why did you choose the DE in Writing, Rhetoric, and Composition Studies?

I chose the WRaCS program because of my love for writing and my commitment to teaching. As a creative writer, I have long studied how great writing happens, and WRaCS has allowed me to extend that curiosity to pedagogy and research. My teaching emphasizes innovative approaches to composition—including a game-based course that received UC Davis’s Outstanding Graduate Teaching Award—and my research examines how artificial intelligence is reshaping peer review, assessment, and the writing process. The program brings together my interests in creativity, pedagogy, and technology in ways that support both my students and the field of Writing Studies.
