Why did you choose the DE in Writing, Rhetoric, and Composition Studies?
My journey as a budding scholar of education has been one of traversing disciplines. Science education is my area of interest, but within that my focus is teaching writing in the sciences at the undergraduate level. Therefore, I felt that it was important for me to develop an understanding of academic discourse: the features of scholarly conversation, the argumentation styles, the varied genres that students would have to contend with as learners and professionals. Hence, the WRaCS DE!
